Miles for Smiles Virtual 5K

Join us for our 4th annual Miles for Smiles Virtual 5K! You have two weeks to complete 5K (3 miles).

All fitness counts: biking, hiking, swimming, walking, running. Our registration system integrates with personal fitness trackers through a Strava account.

You can add some spice to your miles by joining the photo scavenger hunt. Get as many photos as you can from the list. Those with the most photos will be entered to win a prize drawing.

So gather your friends, form a team, set a goal, and start getting donations!

15th Anniversary Celebration

Birthday Dreams celebrates our 15th anniversary this year! We will also be celebrating the birthday of our 15,000th child! To commemorate these two momentous occasions, we are throwing ourselves a birthday party and YOU are invited.

Come celebrate with us on June 1st, 6-8:30pm at the Coal Creek Family YMCA in Newcastle. We will have fun carnival games, Minute-to-Win-It games, a gift wrapping competition, and a cupcake walk. We will also be hosting our second Cake Competition with categories for professionals, amateurs and youths.

Register today to get your tickets. $10/individual, $20/family. We will have concessions and street tacos for purchase. Cake competition entrance fee is $20. Professional and amateur cakes will be auctioned off to lucky winners at the event.

Every child matters. And homeless children are no exception.

Birthday Dreams works tirelessly to make birthday parties happen for the most vulnerable among us. A birthday party is important for a child because it:

  • Marks the day that child was born, validating who they are.
  • Creates a positive memory in a sea of negative, homeless memories.
  • Helps to ease resentments and bitterness.
  • Puts homeless children on similar footing with their peers.
  • Gives the child joy and hope when his/her life seems hopeless.
  • Creates a feeling of togetherness and dignity for the child and his/her family.
  • Shows the child that the community cares and that they are important.
